2020 China Lake Camp Stimulus Package

In order to encourage volunteers, churches, families, and campers to plan to participate at China Lake Camp in summer 2020, our leaders have approved our own stimulus package. It is intended to bring hope and peace, inspiration and anticipation of a summer of camp fun! Here are the details:

1. NO-COST or LOW-COST REGISTRATION DEPOSIT:
2020 registration fees for China Lake Camp are waived if registering with paper (online registrations require a non-refundable $15.00 payment per registration to cover service fees). This allows campers to be signed up for camp with minimal up-front cost to families and churches. Half of the camp tuition will be due two weeks before the camp begins (to cover program expenses) with the remainder due at check-in. We know that family finances are tight… this is one way we can help in the short term.

2. EARLY REGISTRATION DATE PUSHED BACK:
Early registration to China Lake Camp saves $50.00 off the cost of camp for EVERY registration that we receive by the cut-off date. That date has been pushed back to MAY 1, 2020 (previously April 1, 2020). This can amount to incredible savings for families and churches, especially those who are paying for multiple campers or weeks of camp!

3. MULTI-CAMPER FAMILY DISCOUNT:
This allows families with multiple camp-aged children to receive some
relief from the cost of sending several campers to China Lake Camp during the summer. Under this discount plan, one China Lake Camper’s tuition is full price, with each additional China Lake Camper (sibling) from that household receiving a $25.00 discount off the price of the camps they register for. This may be combined with the early registration discount for greater savings!

4. VOLUNTEER… AND SAVE BIG:
Parents who volunteer for a full week of summer camp can have a child
attend China Lake Camp for free. The week of service does not need to be the same week that the camper attends, if that space sounds good for either the parent or the camper (or both!), please contact our directors for more information.

5. PAID STAFF OPPORTUNITIES:
In addition to our annual need of volunteers to make camp a blessing to
campers and staff, our Board of Directors have approved 4 paid summer staff positions. We anticipate that this will allow camp to run more efficiently as well as giving some financial benefit to those who are willing to commit themselves to China Lake Camp ministry in specific capacities for the entire summer. We are accepting applications for:
1 Waterfront Director; 
2 Lifeguard/Counselors and;
1 Archery Instructor/Counselor.

6. PROGRESSIVE CANCELLATIONS (IF NECESSARY…):
Camp will be held unless it cannot be (for any number of reasons beyond our control) and the first week of summer camp is only a couple months away! There is so much that we cannot predict about the future, and our leaders believe that the best strategy now is to pray, and be patient, and to plan for camp!

​Should we be forced to cancel camp, we will contact every volunteer and camper two weeks prior to the start of the camp, allowing time for those affected to make other plans. In the meantime, we are praying feverishly for an end to COVID-19 and associated restrictions!
